Just found out of Skip's passing... so sorry for your loss. As a teen doing shows at the Ritz, Skip was like a quiet whisper who left a wake of laughter behind him. It was something that I didn't always understand but grew to learn about as I grew up at the Ritz summer by summer. He is such a part of my memories of the Ritz and I know this world is at a loss without him. Prayers for you, his sons, who I also remember as small boys trailing him around at the theatre. God's blessings on you as you lean to live life without your gracious father.
Truly,
Lynn (Rosencrance) Elko
Ritz player from 1983-1988

Skip was a passionate person who loved his Philadelphia sports teams. Most people who knew him, always mentioned that he was a big Eagles fan. He also was a big Phillies baseball fan and in 2008, the Phillies won the World Series and brought Philadelphia something to cheer about, which hasn't happened in 20 + years. Skip told me that he was shocked that they actually "did it", winning the championship. Not only was he a big sports fan, but he also religiously watched the Fox News Channel and was at times intesively into politics. Every time I would go to the house to see Matt and Dan over the years, I would always hear in the background an anchor, whether it be Bill O Reilly or one of the visually appealing female anchors of Fox News telling a side of a popular news story that had gone on that day. I will never forget the calming influence that he brought to everyone around him and the full attention that there would be in a room when he would speak about something that was on his mind. Skip will pass on a spirit in which, encourages all of us to be involved in the community and to live life to the fullest and take nothing for granted. Thank you Skip for making all of us, young, middle aged, or old smile and keep life simple and not let the bad times bring us down.

I am lucky to have been in bell choir with Skip. He was always full of great stories and had the best sense of humor. He never felt sorry for himself and he was very proud of his sons. He will be greatly missed by us ringers and will always "own" the big bells.

To Skip's Family,
I was in plays at the Ritz with Skip throughout my teen-age years. I have wonderful memories of him and his kindness. Also, the games he and the other guys would play on each other on stage in front of audiences. Anything to make the other guy crack up. They were all the most fun. I will always remember Skip.

I was so saddened to hear about the loss of your dad. I am from the Scranton office of Fine, Wyatt & Carey. Vince was so good-hearted and such a pleasure to talk to. He was always upbeat and brought a sense of peace to any situation. I loved his stories about the theatre and bell choir. He had such love for these passions. I will miss him. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time.

Danny and Matt,
Your dad had such a way to always bring a smile. I (Kathy) play in the bell choir and frequently stood next to Skip. I will always remember his wit and humor.
We are with heavy hearts and yet comforted knowing that he is with our Lord.
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Always enjoyed Skip's company, especially our years in the Hawley UMC choir. With his sense of humor and keen wit, as well as his easy-going manner, you couldn't help but like him! He will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with all the family.

I spent many an Army Reserve JAG drill weekend with Vince in the early 1980s as the two of us drove to drill sites throughout eastern PA. He was a great companion and conversationalist regaling me with tales of his Vietnam war experience. He introduced me to the pejorative term that infantrymen reserved for those Army types who never went into combat, "REMF." One time I went to see him perform in "Damn Yankees." He was a good man, left us much too early, and is missed. I'm glad to have known him and I'm a better person for it.
