Grandma Wendy was such a dear soul, in the short visits I had with her at the home of the Dunsmore's she was welcoming, kind, and loving. She made me smile and was a joy to be around. I was so sad to hear of her passing, yet thankful that she went peacefully. May her memories live on in all who knew and loved her.

I love how Wendy treasured and adored her Emily. I admired the loving energy she brought to the Dunsmore residence. It made the house feel warm and cozy every time I visited.

Wendy was like an adoptive grandma for me since mine past away when I was young. Her big heart and beautiful soul was a highlight when visiting the Dunsmores (and of course her sweet southern drawl and amazing mac&cheese!) She will be sorely missed. All my love to the Dunsmores at this difficult time, I miss ya'll.

"Georgia
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
As moonlight through the pines."
Grandma was always a treat in my life. She sat me on her lap and read me stories, pinned my hair up at night, and taught me how to sew and iron and cook amazing lasagna.
She truly believed in the grace of God, and shared all that beauty with me every time I settled in her room for a heart to heart moment.
She called me goldilocks, sugar plum, and sweetie pie - and it rolled off of her tongue in a soft southern accent that just couldn't be any gentler.
And with all the moments so close to my heart, I think what I loved most about her was the dreams she represented. She came from a farm in Georgia and found her way up north, she worked hard and she loved learning. She treasured children's books and political biographies as much as local gossip and late night talk shows. Her life was such an incredible journey for the time in which she lived, particularly as a woman.
Her eyes were open and her mind was sharp and her hands were soft and graceful.
I will always hold her memory close to my heart.
"Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you"

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. Debbie and Marcia, I have many fond memories of our childhood at 706 Church Street and then when visiting at Myrtle Avenue, although it sure was a long walk up that hill! Your mom was always so nice. Take care and know that I am thinking of you.
God Bless,

As a child when we would go and spend the weekend,I loved getting up early with her when she would make breakfast for everyone we had some nice quiet talks.I know the angels greeted her and Jesus took her hand as she made her way to heaven.May she rest in peace and God bless her soul.Much Love Linda

Miss Wendy certainly made a wonderful contribution to this world, and especially by giving us Debbie, whom I love and treasure. It would take only the best to give the best to us. Enjoy your next home, Ms. Wendy, and thank you for being with us every day.

Aunt Wendell was a very special aunt and I considerate myself blessed to have been her niece. In fact, due to the close relationship that my mother had with her older sister, she selected my middle name to be Wendell.
Aunt Wendell had a patient, calm temperment that made her enjoyable to be around.

My childhood years are filled with very fond memories of my neighbors and landlords, Wendy and Marty Reafler, and their two 'girls' Marcia and Debbie. Sure did miss them all when they moved to Myrtle Avenue! I recall Wendy as always having such a gentle spirit - must have been the gentile southern belle side of her! Never knew til now that she hailed from Georgia - their loss, our gain! Marty left us much too soon, but now they're re-united, so to speak. Marcia and Debbie, my prayers and thoughts are with you and yours.
