Craig W. Mosher-Retired Master Chief U.S. Navy, age 52, of Hawley died Monday, December 14, 2009 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale.
Mr. Mosher was born January 11, 1957 in Honesdale, Pa and was the son of Shirley (Cron) Mosher and the late Raymond Mosher.
He graduated from Wallenpaupack Area High School in 1974. He was especially proud of his athletic days helping Wallenpaupack win basketball and baseball district titles!
Craig had a sterling Navy career of thirty years. He took part in both operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Desert Storm. He was part of the Atlantic & Pacific Fleets of operation and he worked directly under many Admirals including Senator John McCain. He served on many ships including the Midway and Kitty Hawk aircraft carriers and was involved with Ghost Riders and Desert Ducks while serving in the Navy.
He was greatly loved by many friends and family. Craig was a happy, generous man! His zest for life lifted everyone around him. He lived to fish. He will be greatly missed by everyone he touched in their lives.
He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Cynthia & Bobby Mapp of Virginia Beach, VA; Grandchildren, Liberty, Bobby & Savannah of Virginia Beach, VA; his mother, Shirley (Cron) Mosher; two brothers & sisters-in-law, Carl & Linda Mosher of Waymart, PA; Scott & Darlene Mosher of Hawley, PA; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Dec. 18th at 1:00 PM at Hawley United Methodist Church, 315 Church St., Hawley with Rev. Martin L. Cox, Jr., Pastor officiating. Visiting will be from Noon to 1PM at the church.
Cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, PA.
