Although I have so many wonderful memories of dear Uncle Eddie, my favorite are of those when I was growing up. Uncle Eddie and Aunt Mary would visit our family on the occassional summer weekend. It was ALWAYS a treat! We spent many happy times barbequing at the local Smithtown beach. Uncle Eddie was the one who would keep us laughing with all his jokes! Not only did he remember SO many, he always delivered the punch line with perfection! Forever happy, always ready with a smile, I will remember Uncle Eddie with great love and affection. My childhood was enriched to have known and spent time with this very special man.
With all my love to Aunt Mary, Aunt Betty and all the cousins,
Eileen

It is with deep sadness that we say good bye to our Uncle Ned. He was the last surviving member of the Duffin family. Our mother Annie Murphy Duffin thought the world of her brother Ned and always talked about how kind and good he was to her. Our thoughts are with Mary at this sad time and thank her for caring for our uncle so well especially in recent times.
Ned "May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, and until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand".

His humour and stories about his time in the Irish Army are among the many fond memories that come crowing into my mind. In the words of his native language "Go bhfáiltí sluaite na n-aingeal romhat agus, i dteannta Lazaras a bhí go dearóil go tráth, go bhfaighe tú suaimhneas sioraí." Translated as "May hordes of angles welcome you and in the company of Lazarus who was miserable once that you may have eternal rest."
