I am Stan's brother-in-law (Eleanor's brother). I remember when Stan first came into our family's lives. My sister was divorced with 2 young children and along came Stan, a good-looking, loving man who swept my sister off her feet, married her and provided a home for her and my neice and nephew. We were all so happy for them. That was brave of Stan, having also been divorced with 3 young children of his own, and I guess he was already in his 40's. Starting a whole new fatherhood with now 5 children, was quite brave.
My fondest memories of him will always be those of how much he loved camping, Jones Beach, all the cruises they took together and eventually when Stan and Eleanor moved to Pennsylvania, how much he loved working to make their house a home. From making that walkway out of all boulders he dug up and moved himself (oy vey!) to the special touches he added to the garage (we won't go there!).
We hope his journey is a peaceful one that he so deserves and pray he gets all the Peanut Butter & banana sandwiches, M&M's and all his other favorites when he gets to his Promised Land.
