Obituary of Henry L. Vasisko

Henry L. Vasisko, age 86, of Hawley died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Lois K. Corey, in 1988. Mr. Vasisko was born April 27, 1924, in Honesdale, PA, and was the son of the late John and Helen (Hackus) Vasisko. A graduate of Hawley High School, he retired as a clerk from A&P Supermarket, Hawley, 25 years ago. A lifelong resident of Hawley, he was a former member of Bellemonte Hunting Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer in his earlier years. He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Bishop and her husband Marty of Prompton; a son Barry and his wife Kathy of Lancaster; a brother: Robert of Delhi, NY; four grandchildren, Katie and Christopher Bishop and Jeffery and David Vasisko; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by four sisters, Pauline, Ann, Mary and Helen; and six brothers, John, George, Steve, Joe, Mike and Vince. Visitation will be Monday, November 8, from 6 to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, November 9 at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, with Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley. Memorial donations may be made to the Hawley Public Library, 103 Main Ave., Hawley, PA 18428.
