Obituary of Eleanor Jean Casalino

Eleanor Jean Casalino of Greentown known to her loved ones as "Miss Ellie" passed from this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Born June 24, 1924, in Newark , NJ , she was the daughter of the late John and Lena (Pelosi) Dotolo. Prior to her retirement, she was a real estate broker for JJ Elek as well as other companies. She also sold life insurance for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. She lived most of her life in New Jersey prior to making her home in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. She was a member of St. Veronica's Roman Catholic Church in Paupack where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister. In addition, she was a Columbiette in the Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary, was a member of the Sweet Adeline Singing Group, and organized the "Open Your Heart Charity Ball" which benefited Boys Town of Kearny, NJ. She is survived by her children, Nicholas Casalino Jr. of Carteret, NJ, Deborah Casalino also of Carteret, NJ and Darrel Casalino of Santa Monica, CA; a sister, Gilda Adessa of Pennsylvania and Florida; a sister-in-law Connie Dotolo of Florida and three brothers-in-law, Victor Capo of New Jersey, Nicholas Adessa of Pennsylvania and Florida, and Robert Davis of Florida. Miss Ellie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, Nicholas Casalino. There will be a Funeral Mass at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church on Monday, Nov. 15th at 10 AM. Visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 14th from 2 to 5 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St ., Hawley. Interment will be held at BVM Queen of Peace Cemetery following the Mass.
