I too as my uncle Stu Hirsch remember when I was a young boy and used to stay at grandma and grandpa's house when Joe would come to the house to visit grandpa. He always told stories and was fun to talk to. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

I am very saddened to hear about Joe's passing. He was one of the finest, kindest, most outgoing individuals I knew growing up. On many occasions upon waking and going downstairs for breakfast, Joe would be having morning coffee with the "group" (Bob Drake, Vince Pulici, Chet Bogacki, Gene Campagna, Father Faddin, dad and several others) in my mom's kitchen behind the Trading Post in Hawley. We will miss him greatly.

I used to see Joe almost daily when he worked for the PSP and I worked for Penndot right next door, always loved talking with him and had a great respect for him. The last time I saw him was a few years ago while shopping, ran into him at IGA and we talked for awhile. I am very sorry for your loss, he was a great man and will be remembered by many.

Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what's to be, A resting place along the road to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, different paths along the way, we all are meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay. Our destination is a place far greater than we know. For some, the journey's quicker, for some, the journey's slow. And when the journey finally ends, we'll claim a great reward, and find an everlasting peace, together with the Lord!
I am honored to have crossed your path in my life. You have been an incredible grandfather to my son who has always looked up to you and admired you. You have left your entire family with a legacy in the good and caring person that you were. Thank you for always being so good to me, for welcoming me into your family and for the many laughs and great visits we had. I am grateful for the time I got to spend with you here in Florida. As you enter the gates of heaven, may God's gentle peace comfort your soul.
Loving you Always, Donna

Joe always had a little saying about everything. Our fondest memory was our trip to Nantucket. My husband worried that he didn't know Joe. What would they talk about? He said never a dull moment with Joe. We will miss him alot.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." - John 5:24
Joe always had a great story, a huge "Joe" smile, and a twinkle in his eyes. I always enjoyed his company and he has left fond memories.
