Obituary of James Edward McNulty

James Edward McNulty, 85, of Paupackan Lake Estates, Hawley, died Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Marian Community Hospital after an illness. His wife was the former Mildred V. Fallon who passed away in 2007. The couple would have been married 60 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late James E. and Elizabeth B. Young McNulty, he was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps "5th Marine Division" on Iwo Jima. After returning from the War, he was recruited by Branch Ricky to play in the Brooklyn Dodgers farm system. He was a member of B.V.M. Queen of Peace/St. Veronica's Parish Community and, prior to retirement, he was self employed as owner/operator of a limousine company. He was a lifetime member of Martin County VFW Post 1222 of Fairmount, MN, and The Marine Corps League in Honesdale. Jim was the last member of his family from the "Greatest Generation". Surviving are a son: James McNulty and his wife Patricia Konz of Lawrenceville, Ga; a daughter: Pamela Klusko of Woodhaven, NY; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Dennis, a brother Joseph and a sister Elizabeth McNulty. Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 2nd, from 4 to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 3rd, at 10:00 AM at B.V.M. Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave., Hawley. Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen of Peace Cemetery, Hawley.
