Anita Mae Guccini Box, age 63, of Greentown died Friday, October 14, at Villa Marie Claire residential hospice in Saddle River, NJ.
Born March 3, 1948, in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of Beverly (Brandmill) Guccini of Greentown and the late Richard E. Guccini. A graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School and East Stroudsburg University with a degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Equivalency in Education, she was a retired teacher of the Wallenpaupack Area School District, where she taught for 30 years. There, she served at times as mentor and head teacher, taught at all elementary levels and was known for her respect for her students - enriching their education was truly her life's passion. For the last third of her career, she advocated and developed a strong program for gifted education for kindergarten through eighth grade.
She enjoyed reading, walking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her selflessness, infectious smile, knack for enthusiastic story-telling and ability to light up the room.
A Greentown resident for most of her life, she was a member of St. Veronica's Roman Catholic Church in Paupack.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters: Jennifer Box Knight and her husband Jason of Glen Rock, NJ, and Jodi Box and her fiancé Darryl White of N.
