Dear Peggy and all the other "McGinnis Kids," What fond memories I have of your mom and of you and the old neighborhood... My dad liked to tell us stories of "the gang" and how life was in the good old days in Hawley. We have some of our own old stories to tell! My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. May we all take comfort in the love and care our parents gave us, which we have passed along to our children and beyond... Rest in peace, Jimmy.

There is an old saying that if you want to go fast,go alone and if you want to go far,go together. The McGinnis family has always gone together, led by Jimmy and Rupe, and as all those who know them can see,the family has gone together. I am proud and blessed to be a part of this wonderful family and I miss Jim and Rupe with all my heart.

I am so sorry that we all lost this wonderful warm and caring woman. I remember all those times she would come to Marcy and Ian's Third Street home and help Marcy take care of Sammy. You will be missed, but I do find comfort knowing she is at peace and with Rupp and now caring for our beautiful Emily in heaven....Love you Jim <3

Jimmy McGinnis was a true example of neighborly hospitality throughout the years of my childhood. Her home and yard were always open to the multitude of children welcomed by her children. She accepted all forms of chaos calmly, asking only that one room of her house be off-limits, the little sitting room facing Church Street. Regrettably, Peggy and I violated even that space when American Bandstand beckoned! I will always remember Jimmy as an integral part of my formative childhood!

VERY fond memories of growing up with such a great neighbor! I had the honor of visiting with Mrs.McGinnis when I was last in Hawley in 2007. I knocked on the door and when she answered, I loudly asked "Can Marcy come out and play?" which is what I did so often during my very early years. I knew not to cross her - and fondly remember her chasing me in her yard with a long stick! What a wonderful, wonderful human being, and I'm so blessed to have grew with her as such an important part of my young life. My thoughts and prayers go out to Bill, Marcy, Mike, Bobby, and Peggy! Your mom was great in so many ways!!

We grew up next door to(and then 4-doors down from) the McGinnis clan. We could not have asked for better neighbors and playmates. "Jimmy" was like a second mother to me, especially in my early days and she was just as quick to mete out praise and punishment to us neighborhood kids as to her own. And although I liked the praise part, I never hung around for the punishment part. She was indeed a loving wife and mother, and just the most wonderful lady. If there's a golf course in Heaven, she's there with Bob listening to his patient advice of 'keeping your head down' and 'stay loose.' My thoughts and prayers to Bobby, Peggy, Mike, Marcy and Billy and the entire family. She is at rest and at peace in the Heavenly realm of our Lord.
