Obituary of Ellen J. McGinnis

Ellen J. "Jimmy" McGinnis, age 92, a lifelong Hawley resident, died Friday, January 20, 2012 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. Mrs. McGinnis was born July 14, 1919 in Lackawaxen Twp., PA and was the daughter of the late Felix and Mary (Nino) Sartori. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. McGinnis, Sr. in 2002 and a granddaughter, Emily Webb. She was a graduate of the Hawley High School class of 1937 and a housewife who loved her family and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and crocheting. She is survived by two daughters & sons-in-law, Peggy & Dennis Evans of Newfoundland, PA; Marcy & Ian Webb of Laurys Station, PA; three sons & daughters-in-law, Robert, Jr. & Patti McGinnis of Hawley, PA; Michael & Angie McGinnis of Houston, TX; William & Maryann McGinnis of Catasauqua, PA; thirteen grandchildren, Sara, Erin, Rich, Jim, Mike, Bobby, Samantha, Rebecca, Abigail, Ryan, Eric, Kaela & Ava; three great grandchidren, Keely, Alex & Lucas. Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 24th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 25th at 10 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery in Hawley. Memorials may be made to Children's Heart Center @ St. Christopher's Hospital, 3601 A Street, Philadelphia, PA 19134 in memory of Emily Webb.
