Patti posted a condolence
Dear Mom,
I love you so much and I miss you, but I know you are with Daddy and Boo now. More importantly, you are at home with our Lord.
I am so lucky to have had the good, loving, and Christian parents and grandparents that I have. You always instilled in me the importance of living for our Lord and for that I am so thankful. I hope that I am half the Mom that you always were.
Good-bye for a while. I love you. Patti

Nan, I love you so much and I miss you. You have always been, and will be such a big part of my life. The way you lived your life always looking to the Lord has helped me learn how to be a good Christian and for that I am grateful. I couldn't ask for anything more in a grandmother and there's no wonder why I have the best mother a boy could ever wish for. I owe it to you to keep looking towards the Lord so I can one day see you again.
I love you!

What a beautiful picture of a truly beautiful woman, inside and out. Her gentle way, her sweet smile and the mischievous twinkle in her eye, which she passed on to her daughter, will be the way we remember Lillian. Patti, as her caring, dedicated daughter, you are a tribute to her life. You can be assured that you have learned from her; and exhibit all the good qualities that go into becoming a great mother. (But did you ever learn to make fudge like hers??)
Fondly- The Cannons

Patti, Bob, and Family - May God be with you all at this time of sorrow. We all know that she has gone Home and is with the rest of her brothers, sisters, and parents to cite a few and is at peace. May the people left behind only remember the wonderful life that she led and all the sunshine she brought into the lives she touched.

Lillian,
You were such a wonderful, kind and gentle lady and you will be so dearly missed. I have so many fond memories of you. One of my fondest is Christmas Eves at Nan's. I remember Erin, Rich, Jim & I standing at the door waiting for you and Patti to arrive from church and once you got there, it meant present time. Your chocolate fudge, eclairs and lemon meringue pie were out of this world. Combined with Nan's sticky buns, it made for the perfect Christmas Eve feast. I know you are now up there with some of the greatest. I can picture you all sitting at a kitchen table in heaven drinking coffee. We were so lucky to have had you as part of our family.
Rest in Peace, Lillian. We will miss you.
Love,
Sara

As we prepare for the next few days, i think of all the fond memories im blessed with. You started me with my sweet tooth at such a young age. I can still taste your delicious fudge you would drop off! You never answsered back with "I love you", but snapped back with "you better!" I can still hear you claiming you get large breasts from eating cool whip, and claiming alcohol never touched your lips, even tho none of us believed you for a second! Birthdays will never be the same, as we watch our candles melt all over our cake becuase you couldnt get your camera to work. And Christmas will forever be different without you saving a piece of wrapping paper from every present we gave you. Our family is left all feeling a little broken hearted, but we are all so blessed to have had you in our lives. I know that you are at peace, but it doesnt make the pain go. I ktnow that you are watching over all us and will give us the strength to get through the next few days. I am so proud to say thay I was your great-grandaughter! I will forever love you nana! Until we meet again, you will be in my heart ♥ I love you!

Nanna Washie-Dry, I love you and miss you so much. Your unshakeable faith in the Lord has left a huge impression on me. I can only hope to live as Godly a life as you. Your unwavering devotion to your family and the Lord was remarkable and inspiring. You were one of the strongest people I've ever met and I am truly blessed to have had you as my grandmother. Thank you for everything....until we meet again in Heaven!
Lucas hasn't acquired the same "vocabulary" I once shared with you when I was little and you were watching me....
PS- I'm still teasing Jim but not as much as when we were younger....he's a lot bigger than me now!

I will miss seeing you in the 2nd pew on the left Lillian! You gave great hugs and had a wonderful smile that was always filled with such sincerity and a kiss on the cheek that made the church service feel complete. I'll always remember you bringing in newspaper clipping whenever my siblings or I were in the paper- it was so thoughtful and made me feel so special and I know my mom appreciated it so much. You'll be missed by so many who love you down here, but there's a joy in knowing you are at peace. Till we meet again at Jesus' feet <3

I worked at the Rowland Corner's General Store during the late 60's for Lillian's Brother Ed Bensen and sister in law Lilly. I remember Lillian and Husband and son and families coming into the store in between Telephone duties. They all brought good cheer! Back then the Lackawaxen Telephone Company was located right next to the RCGS.Fond memories and Lillian will be missed

To each and everyone of you. I send my sympathys. Aunt lilly, was part of my foundation for life. She spent many years here being an excellent example of what a true lady is. I don't know about all this fudge everyone is talking about but her chocolate icing was amazing! I would literally have to buy a slice of cake before the bingos or I wouldn't get any. God bless you all and give you his peace.

Sonja posted a condolence
When I think of Aunt Lilly, I will always think of the deep love she had for her brothers and sisters, her parents Charles and Josephine, and all her family. While I was just a grand-niece, she always asked about my brothers and sister. She is eternally part of the great “Bensen” family history project, as she preserved photographs and less than two years ago came to Long Island for a family gathering. We were all awestruck that her in physical condition she insisted on making that trip. She also had a great sense of humor and a good sense of sportsmanship, as I think of the weekend she drove another cousin and myself to and from the Cookoo’s Nest. But most importantly, I’ll always think of the last Christmas card I received from her, featuring Job 19:25: “I know that my Redeemer lives” and her faith in our living Lord. I love you Aunt Lilly!

Patti - I am just seeing the news of your mother's passing. I will never forget all the time I spent at your house as a kid in grade school, having your father bring us to the bus in the winter in the Jeep; and your mother driving us to Hawley for whatever. I remember thinking she was a bit of a speed demon on those turns as I was always sliding from one side of the back seat to the other. We can only hope we are half the women our mothers were but just don't think that's possible. They sacrificed for us more than we will ever know. My prayers are with you - Louise

Aunt Lilly, I am recalling the weekend referenced by my Cousin Sonja when you drove us to the Cookoo's Nest. I would describe it as a harrowing adventure where I had a "white knuckle hang-on" to the door handles of the car as you took those hairpin turns at 80 mph. I thought to myself, "She drives like my Grandpa Eric," or at least the memory of Bill and Jan's critique of my Grandpa Eric's driving. I was lucky enough to have several visits to your home in Rowland and I always enjoyed every minute of them. What reminiscing there was of my Norwegian history, my father's childhood and relatives, and my wonderful Grandma Jo and Grandpa Eric. I loved visiting you and I appreciated your hospitality. I am keeping Patti and Louella and all the family members in my prayers because we grieve the loss of you. I know, though, that you are most likely catching up with my Grandma Jo on so much! You are with the Lord and that comforts me greatly. Peace be with you.

Aunt Lily was a bright light in my growing up years. She guided me as a Sunday School teacher and was a warm loving aunt whom I loved very much. Trips to her house were joyful and filled with music and love. I know she is with her Lord and at peace. We shall miss her greatly.
