Obituary of Lillian Solversen

Lillian Solversen, 94, of Rowland, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center in Lake Ariel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Solversen, in 1974. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Bensen. She and her husband Richard operated the Lackawaxen Telephone Company, from which she was retired. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, the Central Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, the Sons of Norway and was an associate member of Association of Blauvelt Descendants. She enjoyed baking her famous fudge cakes and baking powder biscuits for people. She was always there to lend a helping hand. She also enjoyed doing ceramics and scrapbooking. She is survived by a daughter: Patricia McGinnis and her husband Robert of Hawley; a daughter-in-law: Luella Solversen of Rowland; her grandchildren: Dan and Dee, Deb and Ray, Richard III and Brenda, Karen and Jeff, Rich and Pam, and Jim; and great grandchildren: Jessica Beattie, Joseph Solversen, Ingrid and Erika Bates, Emily and Zachary Bolton, and Lucas McGinnis. She was preceded in death by a son Richard Jr. in 1993, five brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley. The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 18, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Church Rd., Rowland, at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Norman Beighley. Burial will be held at the Rowland Cemetery following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Bethel Lutheran Church, PO Box 193, Rowland, PA 18457.
