Althea retired the "first" time when most people would retire for good. But when she and
Roy moved to Lynndale after her "first" retirement, she began a whole second life that
involved a career at Gumble Brothers which led her into her early 90's. Through those
years, she exhibited a work ethic that was self-imposed and was born of an era of hard
work and integrity. As a rule, she could be found greeting people on the store floor, striking up conversations with customers as she went about her work. And through her concern and interest in other peoples' lives around the store, she affectionately earned the title "Mom". As "Mom", she was also well-known for her open-faced, delicious apple pies that she would bring to the store. In between her regular work, she was known to keep all of the plant life growing with her well-earned "green thumb". We want to thank her for all those years. She is at peace with Roy and both are missed by us all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to John.

Dear John, Carol and family, We are so sorry to hear that Mrs.Ulmer has passed away. She sure was a sweetheart!! I always loved when she and Mr. Ulmer would come to the Front desk at Woodloch anxiously awaiting their up and coming stay with us. They were such nice people. You could always tell how very important their family had been to them, and that was always so nice to see. Please know that you are all in our heartfelt thoughts and prayers. May your family memories be great comfort to all of you. Take care.
