To Terry, Sandy and Vinnie - Karen and I want to express our deepest condolences and regrets for not being able to attend the service on 9/11. The few certainties in our existences are pain, death and bereavement. Grief is in two parts. The first is loss. The second is the remaking of life. As you are aware Aunt Janet was a fantastic, loving, and caring person to all of us. We enjoyed her cards and writings and were very happy to send her the many White House Ornaments. I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. "Love is stronger than death even though it can’t stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can’t separate people from love. It can’t take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger than death."

Janet was one of the nicest people in the world. The last time I saw her we were sitting at her kitchen table with the Ansley family photos and scrapbook, reminiscing about the "olden days". We had such a good time that afternoon! I will never forget it. Love and deepest sympathy to your family.

What a wonderful lady the world has loss with Jan's passing. There are not enough kind words to describe this wonderful person. We shared many good times as teaching colleagues at Holland School and with our passion for quilting with our group at the school and at my quilting retreats. She was an avid correspondent with her lovely letters, notes, and cards plus her faithful phone calls. She was loved by all who knew her. God bless you, Jan. My sincere ondolences to her extended family.

Always a place in my heart

Reason our souls are apart.

Sandy, Vinnie, Terry, and family please accept my deepest condolences. My thoughts are with you at this time. Janet had a way of making people feel welcome and at home. When my wife Patti was in her battle with cancer, her Aunt Janet regularly sent the nicest cards and notes to her. Patti really enjoyed receiving them and read them more than once. Undoubtedly Janet touched the lives of many: family, friends, and students. The angels will need to add a seat at their card table.

Ma, I will always have fond and cherished memories of our time together, even during our illnesses and especially during our laughing fits. I thank you and Dad for teaching me honesty, integrity, God's love for others as shown through our lives, strength, the ability to face whatever comes next, compassion, and the willingness to involve our lives with others so the grace of Jesus is shown as well as spoken. I will always remember your sense of humor, even in hard times; you squeaking like a mouse as I removed the stitches from your upper lip after surgery and us laughing to tears because you wanted to be the "naughty child" so I got a taste of what I did to you when I was a kid. You found the good in other people and trying circumstances. Your lifestyle was your witness as shown in your card ministry to the sick. I have no regrets about what we went through because we went through it together. I'll see you in heaven. Keep our family and friend entertained (I know you will) until I come home. In a darkened world, it is so good to know God sent a woman who loves the Lord to bring some light and laughter! Love and miss you, Ma.

Ma, We have loving and cheriished memories of all the good times in New Village and Paupack. We learned much from the hard times as well. You taught me much about honesty, integrity, God's love shared for those who seek it, being involved in caring for others and showing the gospel of Jesus by how you love one another. We knew fighting through illnesses, handling the hardest challenge or disappointment, being strong when needed, being weak when it was in service to God and others, caring for the sick. Your ministry of writing frequently to the sick and those in recovery was a blessing to so many people. I learned many things I never wanted to know about being your medical care giver. Squeaking like a mouse as I removed stitches from you upper lip didn't make the job easier, but I loved rolling on the floor laughing with you as we tried to make light of our medical circumstances as they came and went. Sorry for the times I scared you, and thank you for the love and instruction I learned from you, Dad, and Naunie. See you in heaven, Ma! I know you will keep my family and friends, as well as yours, entertained until I get there! Let God be praised for providing a darkened world with a woman who loves the Lord.

It was a pleasure knowing Janet. She was a lifelong friend of my Mom's (Jean Gumble Hansen) who used to stay at the Ansley house when they were young and told me of their "adventures." I met Jan after she had retired and returned to Paupack. She and my Mom were both very involved with the Historical Society and I had the pleasure of chauffeuring them to and from the banquets when neither of them cared to drive after dark. She was a sweet lady and we'll miss her. Our sincere condolences to the family.
