Dear Nan and Al's Family,
I received your note today and as I walked towards my wife Ann Marie all I said was "this isn't good." When I read your note and watched the video I remembered many of the times Al watched out for me, took me under wing and taught me many life lessons. Al was one of those guys that touched your life and in most cases made you better for that touch. Still today I tell others the story about going to a meeting with Al and others at Millar and they were laying out new plans that in my opinion were not good. So in the true style of Al, I opened up and expressed my dissatisfaction with it. My words didn't change the policy and as we walked away from the meeting Al said to me "do you feel better now?" I said I did. Al then went on to tell me a life lesson I always remembered to this day. He said, "I am going to tell you something and you will remember it for a long time. When they are pooping (not his exact word, lol) on you and you open up your mouth all you get is a lot of poop (not his word) in your mouth." Al always said what he thought was right. He always held his faith, family and friends at the highest level. We often talked of Yonkers and his experiences back there as I was from there also.
I will miss Al. I will never forget all the lives he touched. Mine included. I will say a prayer of thanksgiving for him.
With my love and thanks for sharing him with me for many years.
Bill

Dear Nan and Family,
It seems There,s very little anyone can say or do to ease the loss of one who
meant so much to you and the family,Al was like a brother to me,We were not only friends but real Buddies since 1957. I was glad to talk to him last week and I know he was hurting,He had a good life and Im glad I was part of it.
May he Rest in Peace. Love Uncle Mike

Gallagher Family,
Amy and I are so sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Gallagher. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and was grateful I did. Hearing Michael talk about "Big Al" was always great as he always had this fun smile on his face whenever he would mention him. I always looked forward to meeting him and when I got the chance at their home in Florida he couldn't have been nicer and greeted me with that big "Gallagher brother" smile that I had seen many times from his brother, Ed. It was great!
I know you will miss him very much and we hope that everyones thoughts, prayers, stories and recollections will help you through the coming days.
Our sincere condolences- Darren and Amy McGowen

Always a smile and a kind word. My favorite memory is "Uncle Al" following Jeanne and I while walking down the road in the Poconos. He was zipping around in his scooter and wearing a dryer sheet pinned to his shirt to keep the mosquitos away. Every time I hold a dryer sheet, I think of Uncle Al.
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
You will keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we're together again."
