Obituary of Catherine Kiessling

Catherine Kiessling, age 70, of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley died Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Born December 15, 1946, in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Bart and Helen Rahilly. She worked in marketing for Direct Media until her retirement in 2010. Formerly of Bronx, NY, she had been a Fawn Lake Resident for eight years. Catherine was a member of BVM Queen of Peace Church, Central Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary, the Purple Passions and the Hawley Women's Club. Active in the Fawn Lake Forest Community, she served on the Beautification Committee as well as other committees over the years. She founded an Al-Anon Group in the Lackawaxen area which is approaching its five year anniversary. An avid card player, Catherine also loved to cruise and travel the world. However, what she loved best was to spend time with and cook for her family. She is survived by her daughter: Christina Wyman and her husband Keith; her son: Stephen Kiessling and his wife Annette of Yorktown Heights, NY; two grandchildren: Brittney Wyman and Keith Wyman Jr.; and one brother: John Rahilly of Shaker Heights, OH. She was predeceased by two brothers, Stephen & Bart Rahilly. Calling hours will be Sunday, October 8, from 3 to 7 PM and Monday, October 9, from 3 to 7 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. There will be a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 10, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, celebrated by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor.
