I am sad to hear about Nick’s passing; I never realized just how sick he really was and after he retired a few years after I did I lost contact with him. But I can’t help remembering the times we shared renting a house on Pine Street in Dover.
Back when I first started working for the Delaware DOI, I was lucky to room with Nick. The Commissioner Dona Lee thought for sure that Nick was going to be the “Oscar” in this odd couple relationship, and I was the Felix. But it turned out that Nick was more like Felix –neat, fussy and liked to cook. We got along great because Nick like to cook and I liked to eat his cooking –mainly one pot dishes- made clean up easy .
My sincere condolences.
He will always live on in my memory.

Laura, Christine and Nick I am very sorry for the loss of your husband and father. Nick is awesome - love him like pop pop! Great sense of humor, gave me direction and advice about life and work. And stern when warranted. Nick was an asset to the Department and market conduct industry. He has been missed since he retired and will continue to be. I will pray for comfort and peace within your hearts and minds. I hope fond memories make you smile and with time begin to outweigh any pain from this loss.

Nick was larger than life. Nick was my boss for about 15 years and while he sometimes made life difficult, he made me better at my job.....he made me a better person. It was always clear that he had a good heart and I am so sad to hear of his passing. There are many of us that "only" got to work with him and we are certainly not as close to him as his family is, but Nick made a lot of people feel like family....even those he worked with. He was such a good man. My condolences to Laura and Nicks children and grandchildren. You've all lost a very good man, but you already knew that. God Bless you Nick.
