As a young divorcee with three very young children I found myself sadly homeless (no fault of my own). Pastor Tom and Jean took me into their home for a whole year. I never forgot their their act of kindness nor the sacrifice they made having me stay with them so long. I miss him greatly. YHWH bless Jean and Josh and may they receive a prophets reward.

To Jean and family of Tom Cusack:
I just learned of your loss almost two years ago. I am so saddened. We were best friends playing baseball in local leagues and then 4 years together on the North Central College baseball team. We were also happy roommates in the second floor of Mrs Bubert’s house a few blocks from college. We had so many good times, and laughs and experiences. We learned from each other. Our dads loved to watch us play college baseball together.
I have lost a very very good friend and I feel terrible that I did not know. I’m proud of all you did over the years in service to God. I pray and know that now you are enjoying God’s richest blessings.
Here’s to you my good friend. I will always have our special friendship memories.
Your old roommate.

I would like to share a memory. Pastor Tom would always call me his partner. It would remind me that God needs us to do his work on earth. We are his vessels. He works in and threw us. I truly enjoyed all of pastor tons classes. I would always tell him your spoiling us, the time he put into his classes where priceless . I was never shown true love and care and encouragement to seek Christ for myself. Pastor baptized me but also taught my son the love of Christ. In turn my son made his own dedication at the age of 10 yrs old to follow Christ and be baptized. This man is the true meaning of fishermen of men. I thank Christ for him and his wife. They both have a special part in my heart for ever.

So sorry to only recently hear of Pastor Cucask's passing. I met him when I was a baby Christian in Burbank Il. He and Jean were kind, pleasant, likeable people. It was a joy writing an article about him and his missionary work/travels in other countries in which many were baptized. Jean, your support meant so much when you both attended my mother's funeral even tho I had moved out of state. Josh was just a toddler. Gods peace/guidance be with you both as you continue your journey toward heaven

Pastor Cusack came to our church just when our second son Jeremiah died at 33 years old. Pastor and Jean came to our home and spoke with us, planned the funeral. Since that time his leadership of our church has been unsurpassed by another. I have been so blessed to have him here.
Every summer for about 10 years or so Pastor would come to our place on camping weekend, he said he enjoyed being there in nature so much, we always enjoyed spending time with him there.
A few days before his passing, Cornelius and I spoke with Pastor about his illness, I am a nurse of 22 years and told him that he needed to see a doctor, you can't fool around with things like this. He said he would but the next thing we heard was he passed away.
I know he is in a better place now but only hoped he would be with us longer.
May all his family, friends, church members be comfort and peace. God Bless each one.

Tom was like a father to me and Jean is still a mother to me. There are so many memories that it's hard to pick one so that this doesn't turn into an epistle.
My very first memory was the night I met Tom, he and Jean had come down to celebrate Thanksgiving with Josh and my family and I was nervous but Tom walked right up and said to me "come here young lady" and gave me a hug.
When I was visiting up in PA, we played the game Heads Up! For those that don't know what that is it's like cherades. I'll never forget we had teamed up and Jean was trying to describe to Tom what was on the screen and she was moving her arms up and down and twirling in circles and he was so incredibly confused by her that he started commenting on her descriptions rather than bothering trying to guess the answer, sent us all in an uproar of laughter including Jean.
We had so many other memories of bowling and playing Wii sports, mini golfing, playing games at the table and going out to eat, but my 2 most favorite and vivid memories are those two of his "welcome to the family" hug. And the uproar of laughter that one night. I enjoyed hearing all his stories of his mission trips he and Jean took.
Tom has also helped me through using his psychology knowledge to understand and heal from a traumatic experience I had prior.
I very much appreciate Tom and everything that he helped me with and all the memories that we all shared. He truly was a father to me and I'm grateful he felt the same and that he thought of me as his daughter. I will forever hold him dear to my heart and always think of him as a father to me and will hold all the memories closer.
Your daughter at heart
Julia

Dear Jean and Josh,
I loved getting together with my cousin, Tom, when we were younger. His grandma, Margaret (Mudge) Hulsberg, was my grandma's sister (Elsie Hulsberg Von Ohlen). I was thrilled when Tom reconnected with me last year and we shared some phone calls and texts. He was a sweet, caring man and I'm sorry we never met again in person, but someday we will meet again in Heaven. My deepest condolences and love to you both. I'll attach a photo from my grandparents' anniversary dinner in 1970 of all us cousins. RIP Tom.
Love, Cherrie Kolben Heidemann-Oglesby

I will miss Tom deeply ! .To read the bible and find a church that followed the Bible as i read it was a joy . To have such a resource as Tom in church was truly a blessing . To connect with Tom thru the WORD was truly inspiring . It was a treasure , blessing and inspiring to take classes from him as well as with him . His informational health classes helped me physically as well as mentally and spiritually . The church truly lost a resource that will be missed . . Tom's saying " did u wake up planning to sin today ? " - truly put the Truth out there , U do not need to sin ! RIP my friend And condolences to Jean and Josh

The Cusack family will always hold a special place in my heart. This is the pastor that baptized me. This is the pastor that visited me in the hospital day in and day out when i was involved in a most tragic motor vehicle crash in 2001. My family moved to Erie, PA in 2001 from Ukraine. My parents were devastated, they spoke no English and I was in a severely critical condition, but Pastor Cusack and his wife were there for us in the most difficult period of our life. They provided us with so much support and encouragement. They are angels sent from above that touched so many lives around the world. I was baptized in 2003 at the Erie Seventh Day Adventist church; I was born again and i couldn't have asked for a better person to coordinate that event. Thank you and until we meet again at Jesus's feet!

Pastor Thomas Cusack pastored a church in Erie, Pa. where we became acquainted with him and his sweet wife Jean. We brought our children with us and they were very kind and interested in our lives. On many occasions they shared their love with us and encouraged us to join them in evangelistic seminars in other countries. By the grace of God we joined them and prayed the Lord help us to teach and encourage others in their walk with God. Many baptisms and experiences were the result with people giving their heart to the Lord. He cared about people and loved them truly from the heart. A lover of people for Jesus! Thank you Lord for bringing Pastor Cusack to this old world. He shared you with others in the best ways possible! He was kind and watched out for his flock from Jesus.
