Very sorry to hear about the loss of Richard. I remember when I was very young, he would visit our house on Staten Island in his uniform. My father, his uncle, and he would spend hours discussing various topics and drinking Irish whiskey.
I recall he had a yellow Jeep and took my father and brother off roading on some undeveloped area of Staten Island in it.

Dick and I sailed together back in the mid 90s. Dick was was a good classmate and good shipmate. A true professional. I especially remember the voyage where he took exceptional care of a lady passenger that had fallen and suffered a severe head injury. He watched over her for two days while we diverted back to the Azores for medical assistance. R.I.P. my friend.
Dick Conlin- an honorable man, last of the Mohicans! Tough as nails but sweet as pie! He was gifted and smart (how many people do you know that could navigate a three block long vessel filled with combustible material?)
He was a friend in law school and we keep in touch over the years.
