Obituary of Richard Royce Conlin Jr.

Richard Royce Conlin, Jr., age 75, of Hawley died Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He is survived by his wife, Jean Hayter. Born July 23, 1947, in Manhattan, NY, Richard was the son of the late Richard Royce Conlin Sr. and Clare (McElroy) Conlin. A US Army veteran, he was a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY, Class of 1972. He was a Chief Mate with the Merchant Marine before retiring in 2010. He also served in the US Navy Reserves and retired with the rank of Commander. He attended Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, NY earning a JD in 1987. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister: Bernadette O'Hara of Nevada; and one brother: Christopher Conlin. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Conlin. A gathering of friends and family with be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the American Legion Post 311, 521 Church St., Hawley, PA, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a military honor guard service at 1:15 pm. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
