Obituary of Marie A. Olver

Marie A. Olver, age 84, of Lords Valley died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Marie was the oldest of eight children born August 12, 1938, to the late Edwin and Harriett (Tayon) Spuehler. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2021 and her son, Kenneth, in 2018. Marie enjoyed playing with children and spending time with friends and family. Her curiosity led to many unplanned adventures. Marie was a lifetime member of the Blooming Grove Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She is survived by three daughters: Kathleen Cronin of Honesdale, Ellen Loughlin of Henryville, and Barbara MacGregor of Lords Valley; one son: Edwin Olver of Promised Land; one sister: Paula Reynolds of Honesdale; two brothers: David Spuehler of Des Moines, IA and John Spuehler of El Cajon, CA; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. At Marie's request, she will be cremated at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, with no formal services. Instead all are welcome to a "Sharing Memories Day" with Marie's family on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from 1 to 4 PM at Promised Land State Park, Greentown. Bring your own picnic and share memories of Marie at the park. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or go to www.stjude.org.
