I always made Wendy go to scary movies with me and she would agree to go, but only if I spent the night at her house because she’d be too scared. In 2012, Wendy and I saw the movie, The Possession.
After the movie that night, for some reason, we were so scared that she had to go with me back to my house to get my stuff to stay over because she was too afraid to be alone, and I was too scared to drive to my house alone. She also didn’t want to be by herself in the car while I got everything, so she brought her beloved cat, Willow with us. We were screaming at every noise and laughing at our ridiculous behavior. A year later, we watched that same movie on DVD and kept asking each other why we were so scared that first time, because the movie seemed kind of silly the second time around.
I will always think of and miss my Scary Movie Partner.

Funny. Intelligent, witty, and very brutally honest. I did not know Wendy very long. But, man was she a profound influence on anyone who got the chance to know her. My moments with Wendy were always about being happy and enjoying the company of friends. At least that is what I take away from knowing her. And it was fun to know her. She was able to laugh at herself and point out that as much as we all think we are perfect people that in reality, no one really is perfect. We all have quirky idiosyncrasies that are unique to each of us. It’s the ability to look at herself and see the humor in those things that made Wendy wonderfully special. She was outspoken, often very vocal and yet able to articulately explain her point of view without being closed minded to what others may have as their own perspective. She could roll with those disagreements and even come to agreement with them when she was able to understand and empathize with what her friends and family felt about any subject. She was when I was around her, very quick to tell a fun story or to laugh at herself. A true comedian and at her core a very good person. Knowing this, she also could tick the wrong box on occasion. Which, for most people is often a tough pill to swallow, but her compassion and empathy would always prevail. Tough love. Yeh. That was Wendy. A good person. Definitely. Memorable, always. She taught me that I am patient, that I am understanding and that I do have people that love and care for me. So, she touched my my life and I appreciate her for it. I will never forget her. And yes am better having had time to know her and call her a friend. Love you Wendy.

Most of my high school memories include Wendy. I moved shortly after graduation, but I am so glad we reconnected later on. I'm glad she got to meet my daughters - we got together at the Hawley Diner and had breakfast and caught up on many missed years. Rest well, my friend. You were loved and will be missed.

One summer, Wendy and I got these two huge chocolate ice cream cones with sprinkles, from Gravity. We got back in her 4 Runner with the cones and they were rapidly melting. No napkins- so Wendy yelled “reach in the back and get the newspaper!” I looked over at her and saw her driving with her wrists and leg, chocolate streaming down her arms and onto the seat. We were screaming and laughing so hard! She said, “what?- I got a chocolate hand, and wheel hand.” So I steered while she tried to wipe her hands off with the coupon pages from the newspaper. We had to pull over at Super Duper to try to clean up what we had left of the melted ice cream. I can remember it like it was yesterday.

Thinking back on all the great memories we shared with Wendy in Allentown growing up. We would play flashlight tag and Red Rover… it was the best times as kids! Wendy was a beautiful soul and will be missed. Rest in Peace in Jesus’ arms. Love…Fran (Cape Coral, FL)
