Dorothy Ann "Dot" Russell, age 80, of Woodledge Village, Hawley, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 26, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John "Russ" Russell. Born July 11, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Adam (Ed) and Frances Helen (Wisnieski) Chojnacki.

Dot was the mother of six children: Pat Rusell and his wife Lynne of Hawley, Robert Russell and his wife Charice of Nottingham, PA, Michelle Reed and her husband Morgan of Phoenix, AZ, Suzanne Ayala and her partner John of Rock City Falls, NY, and Jeanine Russell Reid of Lenoir, NC. She was the grandmother of ten: Cody Russell, Erica Mile, Brandon Russell, Colleen McGovern, Nicholas Russell, James McGovern, Elaina Ayala, Lauren Beal and Kaden Ayala.

Dot loved her parishes of BVM Queen of Peace Church in Hawley and St. Mary Magdalen in Honesdale. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, the choir and the Red Hat Society of Lake Wallenpaupack and several prayer groups. She had also been a nursery school teacher at St. Vincent's.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Susan, her parents, Adam (Ed) and Frances Chojnacki, her sister, Frances Chojnacki, two brothers, Edward and Walter Chojnacki, her grandson, Patrick John Russell, and a son-in-law, Stan Reid.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Chojnacki and his wife Maureen of Rowland, her sister, Lore' Setlock of Whittier, CA, her sister-in-law, Britta Chojnacki of Rowland, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and countless friends and relatives.

There will be a Funeral Mass on Thursday, July 6, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, celebrated by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor.

Burial will follow in Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley.
