I first came up this way to visit Bill and Judy Helbig. I fell in love with the area and a local realtor showed me some lots for sale. I happened to see this place and fell in love. I moved my horse out here and lived in a travel trailer with my dog. George told me to get water from his well until I could get the Zieglar brothers out here. He even parked his trucks on the other side of his building so they wouldn't wake me up at 4 AM.
He reassured me that I wasn't all alone out here, and if I had a problem, I should come to him. I thank the lord for the blessing of a good neighbor.

It has been a while since I saw George and the crew at Cabel Trucking in Sterling Township. I was thinking about him and was wondering how he's been when I came across this.
In my life I have had only a few people in my life that I can honestly say I was happy to know, and George was right up there at the top of the list. He was a fair and honest employer and I always wore a smile on my face when I was around him. He never gave me a reason to be angry or upset about anything involving the job I did for him or the times we just talked about nothing in general.
I am sad about losing him as a friend but happy that he is in a much better place. Rest easy, my friend, we'll take it from here.

When we first moved to PA we fell in love with White Sands Springs. George owned the property that would become our new home.
My memories are of an Old School gentleman, gracious and kind. Rest in peace!

George was a great friend my entire life. Some of the first MAC trailers I ever sold in the east coast was to CKB trucking. When specking out his trailers he said build them to haul 35 tons not the normal 25 tons. Just like George bigger and better than normal. That’s the way he lived his life. Rest in peace my dear friend. Gary Gray
