On December 7, 2023, Alicia (Richardson) McLain of Hawley passed away peacefully in Buffalo, NY.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary Margaret Irwin; her son: Michael (Patti) McLain; four grandchildren: Bridget Irwin, Erin Irwin, Kyle (Katie) McLain, and Claire (Evan) Mann; and five great-grandchildren: Skylar King, Addison, Riley and Hayden McLain, and Aubrey Mann.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Ralph McLain; her parents, Henry and Florence (Reedy) Richardson; and siblings, Margaret (Arno) Pulici and Harry Richardson.
Alicia enjoyed a long career as an educator in Hawley. She delighted in traveling, golf, reading, crossword puzzles and time spent with family and friends. She was thrilled for the opportunity to visit the White House and meet several Presidents. Her best friend was her sister Peg. She was a member of the BVM Queen of Peace Altar and Rosary Society and the Hawley Lions Club.
Her legacy lives on in all those she educated but, most importantly, in those she loved.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 3-6 pm at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church Street, Hawley, with a Prayer Service immediately following at 6 pm.
