Mike has been in my life since we went to St Ann's grammar school, and then Jonathan Law High School in Milford, CT. As luck would have it (and it WAS lucky), we both had decided on careers in Computer Science, and we both had enrolled at Norwalk State Technical College. We carpooled together. At the time, WPLR had a nighttime disc jockey, "StoneMan", who showcased the music of a particular band each night at 7. Mike would tape those shows, and when it was his week to drive, we'd all listen to his 8-track of music. We both met Marcia at NSTC - she was also a Computer Science major. Little did any of us know that Mike and Marcia would re-find one another and marry years later!
Once we graduated, Mike started work at the UI, and I started at Dresser Industries. We stayed in touch, and I eventually met the UI crowd. Through Mike, I was invited to their ski weekends in the winter, and Mike's water-skiing picnics in the summer. Eventually, the UI folks joined my cousin Tom's canoe trips on the Delaware River each spring - we melded our friends at Dresser with our friends at the UI. We camped on the shore of the river, close to where Mike and Marcia would later make their beautiful home on the lake.
I've been lucky to have been invited to their home on Fawn Lake many times and have wonderful memories of New Years Eves and summer cookouts there, as well as pontoon rides around the lake. Mike and Marcia are the most gracious of hosts.
I think that the greatest thing that a person can say to another human being is "knowing you has made my life better". For me, in regard to Mike, this statement is true. I only wish that I had told him that when I could have. Mike was a helpful and generous man, with a fun and open personality. He loved to hear or relate a funny story, and his laugh was completely infectious! Simply stated, he was consistently fun to be around. I will miss Mike's laugh, his occasional silliness, and his aforementioned attributes. But most of all, I'll miss his friendship and the easy way he had of putting a smile on my face.
Rest in Peace, dear friend. I hope we meet again.
Patty

I first knew Mike back in 1977 when we both started our professional careers. He was the catalyst for the beginnings of our social group by inviting people to water ski with his boat at Indian Wells, a group that still exists today. We went to night school together and managed to stay in touch once we went our separate ways. I will really miss his singular laugh as well as his ability to make you laugh. You’re a good man Mike Goda. Rest in peace.

Mike, you and Marcia have been such great friends to us for many years. Starting in 1977 at UI you were always creating fun events such as waterskiing at Indian Well State Park. So many fond memories every season right up to the present time as your Fawn Lake Forest neighbors. This is just one of many "stairway" photos taken. You are deeply missed...already.
Love, Rich and Debbie

He was such a wonderful and helpful friend. My late husband Chris and I loved getting together with Mike and Marcia when we were living in Fawn Lake Forest. He was so much fun and we laughed a lot. Lots of great memories with them. Mike was also a wonderful pool player and I loved to watch him play. Rest in Peace Mike. You gave much to many.✝️❤️

Marcia, I am so sorry for your loss. We've known Mike since our days at Norwalk State Technical College. We've been together through the holidays, vacations, the celebrations and the sorrows. Lots of memories for sure. I will never forget all the years Mike was there and took care of Mom after you all moved to Morris Plains. He was always there for Mom and kept us in the loop when we couldn't be there. I know Mike was in a lot of pain these last years. His pain has ended and he can rest peacefully, My heart, my thoughts and my prayers go out to you. I love you little sister. I'm very proud of you. You are a lot stronger than you think you are. See you in a couple days.
