Obituary of Sean Edward Burke

SSG Sean Edward Burke, age 30, of Benton died Friday, May 24, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Savannah Lauren (Ross) Burke. Born June 10, 1993, Sean was the son of Joseph Thomas Burke and Juliana Mary (Daniels) Brussell. He was a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, Class of 2012, and earned his bachelor's degree from Bloomsburg University, Class of 2021. He was employed as a foundry technician by Benton Foundry. A longtime member of the PA Army National Guard, he was stationed with Alpha Company 1st 109th INF in Honesdale and had achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Over the years, he had completed active-duty tours in Poland and Egypt. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother: Julie Daniels Brussell; his father and stepmother: Joseph and Roberta Burke of Blairsville, PA; two brothers: John Burke of Wilkes Barre and Thomas Burke and his wife Chelsea of Hawley; maternal grandmother: Mary Ellen Daniels; paternal grandmother; Joanne Burke; his father and mother-in-law: Steven Jr. and Stacey Ross of Benton; his brother-in-law: Steven Ross III of Benton; as well as a large extended family. Calling hours will be Saturday, June 1st , from 12 to 4 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM, on Monday, June 3rd at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1594 S. Main St., Hanover Twp. PA 18706. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
