Neil was one-of-a-kind, for sure! Met him around the yr 2000. I'd visit him at WUSR & be so excited when he let me read PSAs! His record collection was awesome! He was the biggest Rolling Stones fan I knew! We continued our friendship on the slopes of Elk Mtn. He will be missed by many. I just learned if his passing two days ago and I am sorry that I missed the service. My condolences to Phyllis & the girls (women now!) & grandchildren.

Q: What will you never forget about Neil?
A: Paul and Gary got together online to collaborate on our recollections of our beautiful friendship with Neil.
Neil had so many phases in his life and we were grateful to be involved in his life, one way or another, for over 50 years.
It’s not possible to explain or tell the heartfelt, true story of our friend Neil but gave it a try.
We loved you Neil and no one can take away memories.
Neil
You roamed Corona's streets on foot,
before wheels took us to new routes,
a true explorer, wild and free,
drinking in life's sweet ecstasy
Oh Neil, our friend, a wanderer at heart,
your Canadian journey indeed played its part,
In discovering the Dead's sweet, mellow sound,
Jerry's legacy forever bound.
Together we rocked and got the best seat
Frank Zappa's quirky, avant-garde DiscReet
Pink Floyd's psychedelic dreams,
and Stevie Wonder's soulful themes.
Humble Pie at Gaelic Park's delight,
Friday nights at Adventurers Inn, shining bright,
our Christmas feasts, a Utopian treat,
your Grandma's cooking, you so loved to eat.
A melody of memories, we’ll sing about you,
our dear friend Neil whose rhythm echoed true,
with a guitar in his hand and blues in his soul,
tried at a harmonized life, to keep his family whole.
We all hung out together with guitars and our voice
not just by happenstance, but definitely by choice
and that one crazy evening just like a mountaineer
Neil climbed halfway up the famed Unisphere.
On mountain slopes, you carved a path,
skiing and boarding, with a joy that would last.
and when the music had stopped, and skis remained still,
you joined Wounded Warriors to teach others that thrill.
Your love for your family and your friends shone bright,
A beacon of devotion, a true guiding light,
through the ups and the downs, you worked hard and long,
joining the service of our country and our nation so strong.
The airwaves resonated with your voice oh so fine,
a college DJ, spinning blues quite divine,
Alabama football pride, your spirit would soar,
"Roll Tide Roll" echoing, forever more.
A guardian angel Phyllis was palliative of you,
a real constant presence, always caring, ever true,
through all of life's journey, you remained a friend so dear,
leaving us countless memories, a legacy crystal clear.
The song may have ended, but the melody remains,
in all of our hearts, your spirit still sustains,
a tribute to a life well-lived, a friend oh so bold,
forever cherished, a friendship we hold.

Memories of Neil John Jordan by Paul L Crews
Neil and I were best friends for life and he even stood as my Best Man at my first Wedding.
At age 9, I befriended him and invited him to hang out with me and my friends and we all grew up together in Corona, Queens, New York playing guitars and attending concerts together.
Neil was my bands’ only roadie at our first gig and that also originated the beginning of our shared adventures together.
During the 1970’s, we spent every evening hanging out together at the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Corona, Queens and also in my basement called The Cave.
He also loved Bass Fishing, which is one of the reasons that he moved his family to Hawley, Pennsylvania

So sorry. I knew Neil when I met him and he was 14. He attended my wedding. My family knew him and I remember meeting his mom. I saw him before COVID and we talked about the past. So sad- he was way too young. He definitely had a passion for snowboarding. My sisters remember him well too! Had lots of fun times at parties and just hanging out. I offer my most sincere condolences.

Phyllis and family,
So sorry to hear of Neil's passing. I have a soft spot in my heart for Navy Corpsmen. They are out there with the Marines doing Marine "stuff" but are in the Navy. Neil had more field time than this Marine. He would often tease me and ask when the last time I slept on the ground. Being an Aviation Marine it was not often. So it is with gratitude and respect that I say Semper Fi Doc! Fair winds and following seas shipmate.
Your neighbor Marine AKA "Mr. Clean.

Neil, in times past, worked part time at WSCR, the University of Scranton radio station, as an on-air personality. Neil learned of me writing original songs and invited me with some of my material to come to the station as his guest on-air to play the songs, be interviewed and talk about my journey in music. That interested me in voice over work, but it never got off the ground. RIP buddy. The Blues, your favorite music, will be played for you.
