Obituary of Bernadette Mary Frisbie

Bernadette Mary Frisbie, age 87, of Lake Ariel died Thursday, January 17, 2013, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Walter W. Frisbie, in 2002. Born February 11, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary (Mooney) Schecker. Prior to her retirement, she served as the Pike County Jury Commissioner. In her earlier years, she had also worked as secretary to the Dean of the Graduate School at Penn State. A member of Tabernacle Bible Church in Honesdale, she was formerly a member of the Central Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, the Republican Women of Pike County and had been a volunteer at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She is survived by two daughters: Rebecca Branning and her husband Keith of Howell, NJ, and Mary Dinan and her husband Terry of Lake Ariel; one son: Walter W. and his wife Linda of Lake Orion, MI; one sister: Margaret Soeder of Pearl River, NY; brother: Thomas Schecker of Cincinnati, OH; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Johnson. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 9, at Tabernacle Bible Church, 455 Grove St, Honesdale, with Pastor John Banks officiating. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
