Obituary of Kurt H. Hirsch

Kurt H. Hirsch, age 75, Lake Ariel, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at home following an illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, the former Norma K. Romain, in 1994. Born October 10, 1937, in Montclair, NJ, he was the son of the late Carl and Hilda (Esplor) Hirsch. He attended the Stephens Institute in Hoboken, NJ. He was a glass blower and was the former owner of Coining Corp. of America in Saddle Brook, NJ. Prior to retiring to Pennsylvania, he had been a Morris County, NJ resident for 51 years. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, he loved the outdoors, travel and Jets football. He was a proficient archer and greatly enjoyed bowhunting. His children considered him "The Best Dad Ever." He is survived by three daughters: Margaret Hirsch-Morris and her Husband Kevin of Lake Ariel, Dianna Heslop and her husband Ray of Hawley and Jennifer Hirsch of Lake Ariel; one son: Paul Hirsch of Hawley; four grandchildren: Shannon, Nicholas, Kurt and Paul Jr.; two great grandchildren: Oliver and Calvin; one sister: Elizabeth Litchman of Brick Twp., NJ; and his longtime companion: Judie Williams of Lake Ariel. Calling hours will be Monday, April 1, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday, April 2, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 405 Church St., Hawley, with Rev. Colleen E. Cox, Pastor, officiating. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Memorials may be made to World Wildlife Fund at www.worldwildlife.org
