Edward A. Gilpin, age 79, Hawley died Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at home. Mr. Gilpin was born August 4, 1924 at Hawley, PA the son of the late Allen E. and the late Mary (Waterson) Gilpin. A graduate of Hawley High School, Class of 1942, he served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II . He was employed as a Central Office Switchman by Bell Of PA in the Hawley Office. He was retired for more than 20 years. Mr. Gilpin was a member of Knights Of Columbus Council 797, Hawley Bishop Hoban Council 927, Knights Of Columbus, Fourth Degree, Hawley American Legion, Wilson-Kelch Post 311, Hawley and Former Treasurer for Hawley Boro He was predeceased by his wife Helen Surplice Gilpin in 2001. He is survived by Daughter & Son-in-law, Rosalie & John Walker of River Falls, WI; Daughter & Son-in-law, Mary & Brent Wootton of Provo, UT; Son & Daughter-in-law, Joseph Gilpin & Joann Noble of Bonita Springs, FL; Sister And Brother-in-law, Rosalie & James Haggerty of Doylestown, PA; Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law, Mary & Stanley R. Smith of McLean, VA; Brother-in-law, Edwin Surplice of Beach Lake, PA; Grandsons, Nathan & Martin Walker Calling hours will be Monday June 21, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at TEETERS' East Chapel, Inc., 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday June 22, 2004 at 10:00AM at Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 319 Chestnut Ave, Hawley where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Rev. William B. Healey, Pastor. Burial will be in Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley
