Helen was a kind, fun loving, and gracious lady with a big heart. Every time we visited her home she greeted us with a big smile and a big hug! She made you feel right at home and always made you laugh. She was a special person and I am sure left so many precious memories with all the people she knew. Keeping her family in my prayers.

We remember Helen for her infectious laughter and the positive spirit she brought to everyone around her. If one could LOVE and LIVE life the way Helen did, the world would be a happier place. We will miss you. Rest in peace.

I shrugged my shlrudeos and resigned myself to the same silly foreign name, a sequence of odd letters stitched together like a crazy quilt, easily misspelled, misread, mispronounced, teased and squeezed and tickled and jabbed at during recess, along with Nataki the black girl (my first kiss), Opie the foster kid (who died in a car crash), and Kiki the Japanese boy (who didnt even speak English but we played marbles during recess and communicated with our own form of sign language).

I thank you for being so bright, cheerful and caring of us kids. On my bus rides with you in the morning, I thank goodness that it YOU that was there every morning. Your smile, and short comments gave me the courage to keep my head up and to keep on trucking, not to let others get to me, to believe in myself. You always took the time to make sure I was ok at a time in my life I was so insecure, angry, and depressed. You were my light, and everyday you kept shinning, after a bit it started to get brighter and brighter. I never got the chance to thank you or tell you the impact you had on my life, for that I am so sorry.... Thank you for being my bright and glorious sunshine, your light never left!!
From all of us snot nose kids you drove for years and years, and still put up with our antics, THANK YOU for getting us home safe ~~~
